Abstract
This study investigated the psychometric properties of the Emotional Promiscuity Scale (EPS), a measure of emophilia (the tendency to fall in love easily and often), and its association with personality traits, romantic relationships, and unfaithfulness in a Scandinavian sample (N=2607). Confirmatory factor analysis supported a two-factor structure (easily and often), though these were highly correlated, justifying a single composite score. The EPS showed satisfactory internal reliability and discriminant validity against the Big Five and Dark Triad personality traits. Emophilia was positively associated with the number of romantic relationships and instances of unfaithfulness.
