Abstract
Personal care products (PCPs) may contain chemicals associated with adverse health effects. This study quantified chemicals linked to cancer, reproductive or developmental harm, or endocrine disruption in PCPs used by Black, Latina, and Vietnamese women in California. Ingredient labels of 546 products were reviewed, revealing that 65% contained chemicals of concern (CoCs), and 74% had undisclosed ingredients listed as "fragrance." GCxGC-TOFMS analysis of 31 products identified additional CoCs, including fragrances, solvents, preservatives, and contaminants. These findings highlight potential hazardous chemicals in PCPs and contribute to understanding chemical exposure disparities.
