Abstract
This research maps discourses on otherness during the COVID-19 pandemic, hypothesizing that despite contextual differences, such discourses legitimized biopolitical actions and exacerbated social, political, and cultural divides. A semi-systematic literature review using Situational Analysis and the Sociology of Knowledge Approach to Discourse was employed. The study concludes by discussing the impact of discourse studies in global emergencies.
