This study investigates the relationship between positive meaningful work and emotional exhaustion among secondary school teachers in southern Spain, considering the impact of technological advancements and work-family conflict. Using a survey of 213 teachers and PLS-SEM analysis, the findings indicate that positive meaningful work negatively impacts emotional exhaustion, technocomplexity, and work-family conflict. The negative effect on work-family conflict is stronger for more experienced teachers. The study suggests updating theoretical models to reflect current labor complexities and promoting strategies to mitigate exhaustion and foster a healthy work environment.
