This research investigates the impact of an education reform on computer science (CS) student attrition rates. Using Rasch model analysis on data from 3673 undergraduate students (2010-2018), the study examines the effect of a 2016 reform that mandated attendance at all theoretical lectures and introduced a learning methodology course. Results indicate that post-reform, most subjects became more achievable, leading to increased exam attempts by lower-ability students and a 28% reduction in attrition. Analyzing student results aids in developing retention-enhancing programs.
