Abstract

This study demonstrates a non-invasive method to eliminate biofilm on metal implants using intermittent alternating magnetic fields (iAMF) combined with antibiotics. The synergistic effect of iAMF and antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, linezolid, or ceftriaxone) reduced *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* and *Staphylococcus aureus* biofilms significantly more than either treatment alone. This effect was consistent across various iAMF settings and antibiotics. Initial mechanistic studies suggest membrane disruption as a key factor in AMF-enhanced antibacterial activity.
