SAR NIF is a federal contribution program established in 1986 and managed by Public Safety Canada. The program aims to:

• Emphasize both prevention and response.
• Support initiatives that educate communities, improve operational readiness, and optimize SAR resources.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants include:

• Canadian not-for-profit organizations and volunteer SAR organizations
• Government bodies at federal, provincial, territorial, and Indigenous levels
• Universities and educational institutions
• Indigenous organizations
• For-profit entities, provided the funded project is non-profit generating
