📝 About the Scholarship

St. Louis, Missouri embodies the American spirit of progress, resilience, and community-driven change. The city's young leaders are tackling challenges such as mental health disparities, urban revitalization, healthcare and biotech innovation, and economic development.

This scholarship is sponsored by One Young World and aims to empower young leaders from St. Louis to participate in the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa.

🎁 Benefits

Selected scholars will receive:

• Access to the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa.
• Hotel accommodation in Cape Town from 2 - 6 November 2026 (inclusive).
• Travel costs to and from Cape Town.
• Catering, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Eligible candidates must:

• Be living and making an impact in the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area.
• Be a citizen of the USA.
• Have proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Be aged 18 – 30 (exceptions may apply, see below).
• Hold a valid passport.

Additional Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate:

• Leadership Capabilities and Potential: Proven leadership experience in professional, academic, or community settings, with measurable outcomes and examples of mobilizing others or leading change.
• Impact and Social Contributions: Commitment to positive change in St. Louis communities, with tangible results aligned with sustainable development goals.
• Alignment with One Young World Values: Embodiment of the mission for a fair, sustainable future, openness to cross-cultural collaboration, and long-term commitment to change.
• Motivation and Personal Vision: Clear articulation of how the Summit connects to personal and professional goals, with a compelling vision for post-event impact.
• Communication Skills: Ability to represent St. Louis with clarity, authenticity, and professionalism on a global stage.

Note:

• If shortlisted, candidates may be invited to participate in an interview.
• Most delegates are aged 18 to 30, but applications from those older than 30 will be considered if they demonstrate significant personal impact, initiative, and willingness to engage.
• Applications from individuals under 18 at the time of the Summit will not be accepted.
