Opportunity Overview

The Government of Ontario is currently accepting applications for its Values Mapping and Data Management 2026 program. This initiative supports projects that focus on values identification or related projects between Indigenous communities, enhancing their capacity to participate in and respond to information requests in regulatory processes under the Mining Act.

📝 About the Program

The Values Mapping and Data Management stream is designed to:

Support Indigenous communities in Ontario.
Enhance their ability to effectively engage in regulatory processes under the Mining Act.

🎁 Benefits

Funding Distribution:
- Recipients will receive a percentage of the total funding amount immediately upon signing the Transfer Payment Contribution Agreement (TPCA).
- The remaining balance will be released according to the payment schedule outlined in the TPCA for activities undertaken and expenses incurred.
- This applies to both multi-year and single-year projects.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

The program is open to Indigenous communities or organizations in Ontario. Eligible applicants include:

Single Applicants:

Indigenous communities in areas of high mineral exploration or development activity.

Joint Applicants:

Two or more Indigenous communities in areas of high mineral exploration or development activity.
Indigenous organizations (e.g., Tribal Councils, economic development organizations) representing communities in areas of high mineral exploration or development activity.

Note: Joint applicants must provide a Band Council Resolution in support of the application from each community represented on the application.
