📝 About the Program

The F.M. Kirby Foundation Summer Internship Program is designed for rising college sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are interested in exploring a career in philanthropy or nonprofit management.

This internship is tailored to the interests and skill sets of the selected intern and includes opportunities such as:

  • Interacting with individuals across various program areas, including health, arts, environment, human services, and education.
  • Working in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Assisting with Foundation communications.
  • Engaging in projects that involve research and require strong writing skills.

By the end of the internship, participants will gain:

  • A deeper understanding of the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors.
  • Valuable work experience.
  • Networking opportunities.

🎁 Benefits

  • Compensation: $23/hour.
  • A one-time travel stipend will also be provided.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the program, candidates must:

  • Have qualified for need-based financial aid in the previous school year.
  • Maintain a current GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Be enrolled in any major.

🌟 Ideal Candidate

The ideal applicant will:

  • Have an interest in philanthropy and/or nonprofit management.
  • Be responsible, punctual, and self-aware.
  • Possess strong writing skills and excellent research skills.
  • Be a flexible and curious learner.
  • Work well with others and value high ethical standards and personal integrity.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Be able to follow directions closely and be self-motivated.
