The Claremont Institute is now accepting applications for its Speechwriters Fellowship 2026. This program offers a unique opportunity for individuals to enhance their understanding of political speechwriting and the principles of the American Founding.

📖 About Claremont Institute Speechwriters Fellowship

Founded in 2017, the Claremont Institute Speechwriters Fellowship combines education in the principles of the American Founding with a study of modern political speech craft. Fellows meet over the Columbus Day weekend to discuss and debate these important ideas.

Upon acceptance into the program, fellows will receive:

• A reading packet with designated primary texts.
• Assignments (when applicable) for each course.

• Engage in debates on themes such as:
  • Natural law
  • Equality
  • Identity
  • The administrative state

The fellowship is open to:

• Speechwriters currently serving in the executive or legislative branches of the federal or state governments.
• Speechwriters working in the private, non-profit, or public sectors.
• Aspiring speechwriters who are strong writers and eager to learn the art of speech craft.
