📖 About Te Kaahui o Rauru He Pikinga Poupou Education Grants
The Te Kaahui o Rauru Education Grant Program, known as He Pikinga Poupou, recognizes that education and personal development are the cornerstones of prosperity for uri (descendants), whaanau (families), and hapuu (sub-tribes). These grants aim to reduce financial barriers to learning and foster a strong connection between individual success and Iwi development.
🎁 Benefits of the Grants
The following grants are available for study completed during the 2026 study year:
Tertiary Study and Training
- Undergraduate & Postgraduate programs.
- Purpose: To assist Ngaa Rauru uri in participating in tertiary education or training by contributing towards study/training fees.
Secondary School Endeavours
- Year 13 students.
- Purpose: To assist Ngaa Rauru uri in their final year of secondary schooling by contributing towards:
- School fees.
- Learning resources.
- Extra-curricular school activities.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
Grants are open to applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Be of Ngaa Rauru Kiitahi descent and registered with Te Kaahui o Rauru.
- Reside in Aotearoa.
- Be studying in 2026 and commence study before July 2026.
- Be enrolled with a government-recognized secondary school/Wharekura (Year 13) or tertiary institution in Aotearoa.
- Applicants who have previously received He Pikinga Poupou Grants for tertiary study and training must:
- Achieve a minimum 75% pass rate in the most recent year of funded study.
- Provide supporting evidence of academic results.
📝 Application Requirements
An application is considered complete when the following requirements are met:

- Applicants (or their parents/legal guardian for those under 18) must be registered with Te Kaahui o Rauru.
