š About AAUWās International Fellowship Program
AAUW's International Fellowships promote education and equity for women by supporting international applicants pursuing postgraduate studies or research in the United States. The program aims to empower fellows to apply their expertise, professional skills, and leadership in their home countries.
Additionally, up to five awards are available to Graduate Women International members for study in any country other than their own.

š Benefits of AAUWās International Fellowship Program
- Masterās Degree Stipend: $20,000
- Doctorate Degree Stipend: $25,000
Stipends are disbursed in two equal payments at the beginning and midpoint of the fellowship term.
ā Eligibility Criteria
General Requirements
- Applicants must identify as a woman.
- Must be admitted or enrolled in their first masterās or academic/professional doctorate degree at the time of application.
- Examples of masterās degrees: M.A., M.S., M.B.A., M.F.A., L.L.M., M.Arch.
- Examples of doctorate degrees: D.B.A., Ed.D., J.D., M.D., Ph.D.
- Program must begin on or before September 1, 2026, and end on or after April 30, 2027.
- Must possess at least one academic degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelorās degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Must pursue study in the United States on a full-time basis at an institution accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Must reside in the U.S. or country of research during the fellowship period.
Special Requirements for Graduate Women International Members
- Applicants intending to study in a country other than their own or the U.S. must be members of Graduate Women International and pursue study at an eligible international institution.
Citizenship & Immigration Status
- Fellowship recipients must be non-U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
Disqualifying Factors
The following are not eligible for consideration:
- Members of the AAUW Board of Directors
- Employees of AAUW (including part-time, temporary, or contract employees)
- Review Panelists
- Immediate family members of individuals described above
- Previous AAUW fellowship or grant recipients (excluding Community Action Grants or branch/local AAUW awards)
š Award Renewal (Masterās Degree Only)
A two-year fellowship may be awarded to up to five masterās degree candidates who meet the following conditions:
- Admitted into a two-year program as first-year students by the beginning of the fellowship term.
- Among the most highly rated applicants in their field of study.
Renewal Conditions
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 during the initial year of studies.
- Submit an AAUW funding renewal form, official transcript, and institutional certification form by May 30, 2027.

- Two letters from advisors, professors, or colleagues familiar with the applicantās academic and professional qualifications.
- Recommendations must be submitted by the application deadline.

- Copy of the highest degree earned, including certified translations if not in English.

- Official transcript confirming conferral of the highest degree received.

- Proof of a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Additional Notes
- Certified English translations are required for all materials provided in a foreign language.
