Abstract
This paper investigates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and radical innovation, considering the contingency effects of board characteristics. Using panel data of listed manufacturing firms in China (2013-2019), it finds that entrepreneurial orientation positively impacts radical innovation. CEO duality and board independence positively moderate this relationship, while board ownership and board size negatively moderate it. The study contributes to the entrepreneurial orientation and corporate governance literature by highlighting the asymmetric roles of board characteristics.
