Abstract

This research explores the factors influencing elderly individuals' intention to use mobile payments in China. A mobile payment acceptance model was developed and validated using data from 316 elderly participants and structural equation modeling. Results indicate that perceived ease of use directly affects perceived usefulness, which in turn positively influences mobile payment intention. Information quality and service quality directly impact perceived trust, which also positively affects mobile payment intention. Perceived risk negatively affects mobile payment intention. The findings offer valuable insights for mobile payment developers and policymakers to create more elderly-friendly systems and promote sustainable mobile payment growth.
