Abstract

Volcano plots are commonly used to visualize large datasets from genomic and proteomic screens, showing effect size versus significance. However, existing tools often lack interactivity and easy data sharing. This paper introduces VolcaNoseR, an open-source web application built with R/Shiny, allowing users to create, explore, label, and share interactive volcano plots. VolcaNoseR enhances data transparency and reusability by integrating data retrieval from online repositories and enabling sharing of plot settings via URLs.
