This study assessed the effect of dairy consumption on pre-diabetes remission or progression to type 2 diabetes (T2D) in 334 adults (mean age 49.4 years, 51.5% men) over 9 years. Higher high-fat dairy intake (200 g/d increase) was associated with a 69% increased odds of normal glycemia (NG), while total or low-fat dairy intake showed no association. Higher yogurt intake also correlated with increased odds of NG. Milk, cheese, and cream-butter intakes showed no association with outcomes. Regular dairy consumption may increase the chance of pre-diabetes regression to NG.
