This study investigates the brain's interconnectivity patterns related to time perception in predictable and unpredictable conditions using EEG data. Functional connectivity analysis via Phase Lag Index (PLI) revealed significant variations in gamma, beta, and theta bands, more pronounced in predictable conditions. Unpredictable conditions showed increased alpha band connectivity between occipital and temporal regions at a 400-ms delay and distinct delta band patterns involving central and frontal regions. The right prefrontal cortex played a crucial role, and connectivity decreased across delta, theta, and beta bands at the longest delay (800 ms). These findings enhance our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying time perception and the influence of predictability.
