Abstract
This study investigates the use of metaphors in blogs by parents of children with cancer to understand their experiences and inner thoughts. Data from 33 parents' blogs (2019-2022) yielded 181 metaphors. Qualitative content analysis, informed by Conceptual Metaphor Theory, revealed that "Game," "War," "Journey," and "Plant" metaphors were most common, with "Game" and "War" dominating. These metaphors helped parents articulate feelings and encourage their children's fight against cancer. Understanding these metaphors can aid in providing better support.
