Abstract
This study investigates the role of social media in buffering anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Using an online survey (N=1408), the researchers found that social media use promoted a positive perception towards stressors, suggesting a buffering effect on anxiety. Triangulation of SEM statistical modeling, text mining, and sentiment analysis revealed the functional role of social media in promoting resilience.
