This study examines the dramatization of trauma and post-traumatic effects in Tony Devaney Morinelli's *The Sins of the Mother* and Nasser Awad and Ronak Shawki's *Outside Time*. *The Sins of the Mother* depicts an Irish American family struggling with cyclical alcoholism and domestic violence, while *Outside Time*, adapted from Mario Vargas Llosa's work, focuses on an Iraqi woman's inability to escape traumatic memories of Saddam Hussein's regime. The paper analyzes the dramatization of these experiences through flashbacks and the blurring of past and present, utilizing the lens of Literary Trauma Studies.
