This study evaluated the acute and sub-chronic toxicity of a Cretan Aromatic Plants essential oil (CAPeo) mixture, composed of thyme, Greek sage, and Cretan dittany essential oils, in rats. The study found no evidence of toxicity, even at doses significantly higher than those used in previous clinical trials demonstrating antiviral activity and symptom reduction in upper respiratory tract infections. This suggests that the CAPeo mixture is safe for use.
