This article examines the role of effective government communication in managing the COVID-19 pandemic. Drawing on social science research, it highlights the importance of a two-way communication process involving clear messages, appropriate platforms, diverse audience tailoring, and trusted messengers. Ten recommendations for effective communication strategies are presented, emphasizing the development and maintenance of public trust through increased community engagement and the consideration of emerging digital technologies.
