Abstract
This research examines how major American entertainment conglomerates (AT&T, Comcast, Disney, ViacomCBS, and Fox) responded to the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing business shutdowns. Using historical and discourse analysis within a political economic framework, it analyzes the industry’s technological adaptation and innovation, arguing that the crisis accelerated the shift towards streaming platforms as the primary distribution mechanism for film and television.
