This study investigates the relationship between adult children's intergenerational support, socioeconomic status, and the well-being of Chinese older adults. Using data from the 2014 China Longitudinal Aging Social Survey (CLASS), the study finds that adult children's financial conditions have a significant and direct impact on the well-being of older adults, regardless of the number of children or urban/rural residence. This impact surpasses that of children's education level and intergenerational support. The study concludes that for Chinese older adults, their children's financial well-being is more important than the direct support they receive.
