This research explores the technical feasibility and economic viability of a renewable transition pathway for the Indian power sector by 2050. The study shows that a renewables-based system (solar PV, wind, hydropower, batteries, synthetic fuels) is lower in cost than the current coal-dominated system, has zero greenhouse gas emissions, and provides reliable electricity. This transition addresses affordability, accessibility, and sustainability without compromising economic growth.
