Abstract
This study examines how US media, specifically *Time* magazine, portrayed Pakistan's relationship with the Taliban in the decade following 9/11. Using corpus-assisted critical discourse analysis, the study analyzes the frequency of mentions, significant collocates, and semantic categorization of terms related to Pakistan and the Taliban. The analysis reveals a consistent link between Pakistan and Taliban groups, highlighting ambiguity in the portrayal of the Taliban and suggesting that Pakistan's role is presented as complex and not fitting neatly into a simple "ally vs. enemy" binary.
