Abstract
This research investigated the main linguistic strategies used in President Biden's 2021 inauguration speech. Data were analyzed using Fairclough's CDA framework, examining macro-structure (thematic-intertextually), microstructure (syntax analysis, cohesion), stylistic elements (lexicon choice), and rhetoric (persuasive function). Biden employed persuasive strategies including creativity, metaphor, contrast, indirectness, reference, and intertextuality to address critical issues, emphasizing unity, democracy, and racial justice. The study concludes that effective use of linguistic and rhetorical devices is crucial for persuasive communication and conveying intended ideologies.
