This study investigates a hydroxyapatite and magnesium oxide (HAp/MgO) bone substitute to combat bone graft infections and promote regeneration. Different sintering temperatures yielded granules with varying properties, influencing antibacterial activity and cytocompatibility. Granules sintered at 1100 °C showed optimal balance, reducing bacterial proliferation while supporting osteoblast growth. In vivo testing demonstrated angiogenesis stimulation without inflammation. MgO's dual effect makes this a promising antibacterial bone substitute.
