Abstract
This paper investigates the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, focusing on whether it will replace or assist human teachers. Through literature review and survey data from students and teachers, the study examines the future role of educators in the age of AI. Findings indicate that while some believe AI may eventually replace teachers, the majority see human teachers as irreplaceable due to their unique qualities like critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence. The study highlights the irreplaceable role of human interaction in developing social-emotional competencies and proposes a roadmap for integrating AI effectively as a teaching aid rather than a replacement.
