This research identifies factors driving food purchasing frequency and consumption changes related to climate change concerns and interest in sustainable food certifications. A cross-country survey of 6500 consumers across six countries (Italy, France, Germany, Denmark, USA, and China) revealed that age, gender, and country significantly influence food consumption, purchasing behaviors, and interest in certifications. Chinese consumers showed high interest in certifications but also higher consumption, while Danish consumers showed decreased consumption and lower interest. Despite challenges, sustainable certifications offer a promising avenue for interventions promoting sustainable diets.
