This article presents a holistic framework for blockchain deployment in global agro-food value chains, aiming for accountability and sustainability. It interlinks UN SDGs 2 (food for all), 3 (health for all), and 12 (sustainable consumption and production), assessing legal and regulatory requirements. A case-study approach examines blockchain deployment from an operations management perspective. The framework enables a vertically integrated blockchain for enhanced trust through a time-stamped transaction ledger. The findings serve as a guide for managers and policymakers.
