Abstract
This study explored state anxiety, social support, work–family conflict, and happiness among single mothers by choice in Israel during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using snowball sampling (386 participants), negative correlations were found between state anxiety and income, social support, and happiness. A positive correlation existed between work–family conflict and state anxiety. Stepwise regression analysis revealed happiness as the strongest predictor of state anxiety, explaining 34% of the variance. Future research should compare these findings with mothers in relationships and investigate similar experiences in other countries.
