Abstract
This study investigated whether perceived stress mediates the relationship between social support and positive affect, anxiety, and depression. A cross-sectional online survey of 426 Filipino adults during the COVID-19 pandemic used measures of social support, perceived stress, positive affect, anxiety, and depression. Mediation analysis revealed that perceived stress significantly mediated the relationship between family and significant other support and positive affect, anxiety, and depression. However, this mediation effect was not observed for friend support. Implications for interventions promoting mental well-being are discussed.
