A systematic review and meta-analysis of 93 randomized trials across 45 low- and middle-income countries finds social safety nets modestly but significantly improve women's economic achievements and agency—driven by unconditional cash, social care, asset transfers and public works, with smaller effects for conditional cash and no effect for in-kind transfers.
