Abstract
This study investigated the effects of smartphone-based reminders on students' study frequency. 85 lower secondary school students (aged 10–12) participated in a 36-day intervention using a vocabulary learning app. Results showed that reminders increased the likelihood of studying on reminder days. However, compared to a control group, the reminder group studied less frequently on non-reminder days, suggesting an overreliance on reminders and hindering the development of independent study habits.
