SARS-CoV-2 vaccination induces mucosal antibody responses in previously infected individuals

Abstract

This study analyzes serum and saliva samples from individuals with and without prior COVID-19 infection before and after mRNA vaccination. The results suggest that mRNA vaccination induces more robust mucosal secretory IgA (SIgA) responses in individuals with prior SARS-CoV-2 exposure. SIgA induction post-vaccination was more efficient in those with a history of COVID-19.
