Abstract
This study investigates the presence of rape myths in conversations among sexual health staff when discussing rape cases. Using Conversation Analysis of a focus group, three themes emerged: assessing case relatability, diagnostically reconstructing events, and apportioning blame. A tension between rape myths and professional non-blaming discourses was observed, highlighting the need for further training for professionals working with rape survivors.
