This online questionnaire survey of 1242 Wuhan residents investigated the psychological impact of the COVID-19 epidemic. Results showed that 27.5% experienced anxiety, 29.3% depression, 30.0% sleep disorders, and 29.8% used passive coping mechanisms. Multivariate logistic regression revealed that being female, married, and having a higher income were risk factors for anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders. Lack of exercise was a common risk factor across all four measures. Higher education was associated with sleep disorders.
