Abstract

This study investigates the amplification of emotional distress by overexposure to COVID-19 information. A cross-sectional online survey (N=1313) in China revealed a positive correlation between COVID-19 information exposure and emotional distress, mediated by risk perception. Psychological resilience moderated these mediating effects, with five resilience factors showing varied moderating influences. The study offers implications for clinical intervention and public health management.
