Abstract
This study investigates factors influencing Japanese citizens' attitudes toward the 2020 Olympics, held during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using an online survey of 800 citizens, logistic regression models tested the impact of perceived high cost, medical burden, infection risk, pandemic countermeasures, economic benefits, and athlete perception on attitudes. Results confirmed the hypotheses except for the cost perception. Fear of healthcare system collapse due to the Olympics significantly negatively impacted attitudes.
