Abstract
This study proposes a social sustainability model for socially sustainable urban development in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Using a quantitative research strategy and a structured questionnaire survey of 564 Dhaka residents, the study identified 38 indicators under 11 social sustainability themes through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis using structural equation modeling. The model serves as a framework for governmental bodies, policymakers, and urban planners to achieve sustainable cities and contributes to implementing Sustainable Development Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
