Abstract
Structural flexibility in metal-organic framework (MOF) membranes hinders their use in gas separation. This study introduces a mixed-linker approach to improve the stability of CAU-10-based membranes. Partial substitution of the PDC linker with BDC (30 mol%) in CAU-10-PDC significantly enhances stability and reduces aperture size. The optimized CAU-10-PDC-H (70/30) membrane shows high CO₂/CH₄ separation performance (separation factor of 74.2 and CO₂ permeability of 1111.1 Barrer). In situ XRD, DRIFT spectroscopy, and DFT calculations reveal the mechanism behind the enhanced stability.
