Conjugated polymers are promising materials for various applications. This paper presents a plasmonic nanogap platform for assessing the chemical structure and orientation of conjugated polymers, focusing on PEDOT with varying thickness (2–20 nm) undergoing redox *in situ*. Dark-field (DF) and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) track optical anisotropy and chain orientation, demonstrating how this influences optical and redox switching in nanothick PEDOT devices.
