Abstract
The role of green banking (GB) in the green supply chain (GSC) is a relevant issue for green growth. The literature has pointed to barriers that hinder GSC development. Since the publication of the OECD green growth framework, empirical research on GB has proliferated, yet barriers to GSC development have not been systematically linked to empirical GB findings. Through a literature review of empirical GB research, this paper identifies, by scientific impact, the banking role and maps the relationships among barriers to GSC development and conclusions of empirical GB research, also linking them to main GB research topics. Additionally, it displays the main vectors related to area, year and methodology for each barrier and topic of empirical research on GB.
