This paper examines M.R. Kukrit Pramoj's *Farang Sakdina* (1957-1958), a critique of Western development theories applied to Thailand. Kukrit argued against the equivalence of Western feudalism and Thai *sakdina*, highlighting different historical trajectories and contradictions. The analysis reveals Kukrit's dialectical theory of historical change, drawing parallels between England and Thailand's political development. The paper concludes that Kukrit's insights offer a valuable framework for understanding Thailand's political development and the limitations of Western-centric good governance models.
