The Asian summer monsoon's large-scale convection rapidly transports boundary layer aerosols into the Asian summer monsoon anticyclone. Using the ECHAM6-HAMMOZ model, this study demonstrates that these aerosols are transported to the Arctic via the Brewer-Dobson Circulation (BDC). East and South Asian anthropogenic emissions significantly contribute to Arctic aerosol loading, causing negative net aerosol radiative forcing at the surface (-0.09 ± 0.02 Wm⁻² and -0.07 ± 0.02 Wm⁻², respectively). While East Asian aerosols (sulfate-rich) cause surface cooling (-0.56 K) and tropospheric cooling, South Asian aerosols (black carbon-rich) show minimal surface cooling and atmospheric warming. East Asian aerosol sources have the potential to counteract Arctic warming.
