This paper assesses the capacity for public health education and training in India. A desk review of 59 institutions and in-depth interviews with faculty were conducted. Key factors impacting public health programs included collaborations, mentorship, curriculum standardization, tuition and funding, and student demand. Collaborations and mentorship were highly valued, but curricula lacked standardization. Public sector programs were affordable, but further development of career opportunities is needed.
