Abstract
This study investigates the popularization and canonization of Huiguniang, the Chinese Cinderella, by examining three Chinese translations of Cinderella stories and the ancient Chinese folklore *The tale of Ye Xian*. Using the Aarne-Thompson-Uther (ATU) classification framework, the study analyzes changes in prototypical features, correlations between versions, and the role of translation in shaping Huiguniang's cultural reception in China. It explores the intersection of language and society, highlighting the dynamics of translation, empowerment, and cultural reception.
