Abstract
This paper analyzes the asymmetric spatial intercity linkage network in China's economically developed Yangtze River Delta Region (YRDR) based on big data derived from Spring Festival (SF) migration. The study explores the determinants of these linkages considering multivariate distance factors. Findings indicate asymmetry in the intercity linkage network between core and non-core cities, with geographic distance remaining the most influential factor despite technological advancements. While other attribute distances play a role, their effects become complex when controlling for geographic distance. The study contributes to the "death of distance" debate and offers a framework for analyzing intercity linkage patterns, enhancing understanding of urbanization in China.
